SPECIALIST
Reid Dunavant is a Tennessee native and a graduate of the University of Tennessee. Always intrigued by objects, Reid developed his interest in antiques at a young age while growing up in the South. He began his education buying and selling antiques throughout his home state and beyond, and through exposure he developed a keen eye and a passion for sterling silver. His love for the Decorative Arts led him to a career in the auction business, and after working for several firms Reid joined DOYLE in New York where he led the 19th and 20th Century Decorative Arts Department. As a growing company, DOYLE expanded outside of New York, and in 2004 set down permanent roots in Georgetown, DC after years of success in the Mid-Atlantic region. Reid relocated to become the Director of the Washington, DC Regional Advisory, where he currently serves as Senior VP, supervising estate appraisals and client relationships throughout the South-East and Mid-Atlantic.
Reid has over twenty-five years of experience in the auction industry and travels throughout the United States lecturing on the Decorative Arts. He has shared his expertise as an appraiser on the PBS series Antiques Roadshow for over a decade of consecutive seasons from 2004-2016. Reid is active in the arts and supports several non-profit arts organizations including Hillwood Museum & Gardens as well as The Sitar Center, a vibrant arts education institution for underserved children.
